Community Emergency Response
HART Services Scotland Ltd - provides and supports a CERT team based in Glasgow, with Medical, Rope, Airline breathing apparatus, Confined space, Swift water, and Floods Rescue assets. We are part of and Proud Sponsors of Civil Defence (Scotland) - Community Emergency Response Team.
This is a Service that is provided by Professional Volunteers and is available 24/7 through-out Scotland to anyone in difficulty at no-cost to the existing Emergency Services, Tax-payer or the Community. We will respond to Emergencies as and when requested and when the need arises.
We Provide a Consultancy Service: Promoting safe work and Rescue at Height and Confined Spaces.
Many people find themselves in difficulties, requiring rescuers to use specialist equipment and technical skills to access and transport them to a place of safety. Remote locations /sites, cliffs, shafts, confined spaces, tower cranes, wind turbines, multi-storey buildings, communication masts & towers, powered work & access platforms, cable suspended & hydraulically operated maintenance cradles, are all prime areas for a technical rescue.
The unit specialises in rope access & technical rescue, and are equipment to access and egress at height and in confined spaces, we utilise a wide range of extended skills, such as Paramedical /Advanced Life Support, Airlines, Ex Communications, Aerial Stretcher Handling, Rigging & Lifting, Tower Crane & Powered Platform Operation, and being trained users of power /rescue tools affect rescues in technically challenging and difficult areas.
The unit train, and are qualified to Internationally recognised standards. The Competencies are identified in IRIA (International Rescue Instructors Authority) standard operation procedures for technical search & rescue incidents.
Helping Others:
A World Record Abseil for sick kids: - The 197,000 ft Longest Continuous Abseil over 10 hrs from the Moat House Hotel, in Glasgow in 1990 for Yorkhill Children,s Hospital was the birth of the HART Rescue Unit.
We take pride in helping others, we have helped to raise over £300k over the past years to benefit such Charities as, The Royal Hospital For Sick Children, Glasgow & Edinburgh, Cancer Research UK, Breakthrough Breast cancer, Enable, & St Andrews Ambulance Association, to name a few.
